Rental Rates and Agreement
Rental Rates
Effective September 2011 - August 2012

1. Rates are based on minimum block booking (8, 4, 2, hours) in two categories : Performance Rentals and Non Performance Rentals.
2a. Performance Rentals include: technician, box office, janitorial services, ushers, house manager, ticket printing and other equipment listed on the rental contract.
2b. Non Performance Rentals include : janitorial services, ushers, house manager, and other equipment listed on the rental contract. Non Performance Rentals that require a technician will be charged extra. The Lawrence O'Brien Arts Centre may not be used as a recording studio.
3. Services of a curtain puller are available but must be requested at rental booking.
4. If a booking is made and cancelled without two weeks notice, a cancellation fee of 50% of the estimated rental costs will be charged.
5. Ticket prices are set by the renter.
6. A Ticket Surcharge of $1 per ticket/seat (HST included) for repairs and maintenance will apply whenever admission is charged for entrance to the facility.
7. SOCAN license fees will be charged to the renter. When applicable renters will be given the appropriate forms to fill out and the venue will charge renters the SOCAN license fee of 3% of the gross ticket sales versus $35.
8. Wish Fish Membership: Some non profit arts groups may choose to pay an annual $800 (HST included) Wish Fish Membership fee which entitles their group to use GROUP E rates, and access to the building for meetings and rehearsals.
9. Mealy Mountain Collegiate has a User Agreement with the Eastern Labrador Arts Alliance. Outside bookings take priority over daytime school use.
10. Merchandise Sales will be charged 10% to the house.
11. The Eastern Labrador Arts Alliance has a Food and Alcohol Policy and management must be notified at the time of booking about Food and Alcohol usage. Alcohol is permitted for special events but is not to be sold.
12. Cameras, video cameras, cell phones, and any audio/visual recording devices are NOT PERMITTED in the theatre. Renter/Performers may request permission and must notify management when designated photographers are to be used.

PROFESSIONAL
GROUP A Performance
* anyone who receives royalties
* 4 hr min: $750 vs 20% of ticket sales whichever is greater
* $75 per hr for each additional hour
* $50 added for foyer receptions(food/beverages)
* plus HST

CHARITY
GROUP B Performance
* the performers must be non paid volunteers donating their time
* 4 hr min: $200
* $40 per hr for each additional hour
* $50 added for foyer reception(food/beverages)
* HST included

WITHOUT ADMISSION
GROUP C Performance and Non Performance without Technician
* if a technician is required there will be an
additional fee determined by the requirements
* $50 added for foyer reception (food/beverages)
i) Performance
* recitals, presentations
* 2 hr max: $100
* 4 hr max: $200
* over the maximum time will be charged an extra $100 per hour
* HST included

ii) Non Performance
* inservice, workshops
* 8 hr min: $300 daytime only
* 4 hr min: $200 day or evening
* 2 hr min: $100 day or evening
* $50 per hr for each additional hour
* HST included

NOT FOR PROFIT/LOCAL ARTISTS
GROUP D Performance
* 4 hr min: $400 vs 15% of ticket sales whichever is greater
* $40 per hr for each additional hour
* $50 added for foyer reception(food/beverages)
* HST included

WISH FISH MEMBERS
GROUP E Performance
* $200 flat rate per performance vs 15% of the ticket sales
* $50 added for foyer reception(food/beverages)
* HST included

SCHOOLS
GROUP F Performance and Non Performance
* $50 added for foyer reception(food/beverages)
i) Evening with admission
* $200 flat rate per performance
* HST included

ii) Evening without admission
* $75 flat rate per performance/event
* HST included

iii) Daytime no admission - non paid performers
* artists are non professional or volunteer professionals
* $25 flat rate per performance/event
* HST included

iv) Daytime no admission - paid performers
* artists are paid professionals
* $200 flat rate per performance
* HST included

FOYER
Group G Foyer Event
* 4 hr min: $100
* full day : $200
* $40 per hr for each additional hour
* HST included
* Maximum capacity 100 seated or 300 standing

WEEK RATE
GROUP H Weekly Rate
* 5 to 7 consecutive days
* Full rate less 20%
